Bring the problem you want solved. We’ll shape it into a project brief you can keep — or let AI draft a first approach.
A PDF is an output format. Automating an investigation report starts earlier: with the records, observations and decisions that the document represents. Recreating a manual template in software is useful only if the source information and review process remain clear.
Start with a redacted template and a sample set of inputs. List each field, its owner, its source and the point when it becomes available. Separate directly copied values from calculations, observations and conclusions.
For example, a sample identifier may come from a receipt record. An observation may be entered by an analyst. A root-cause conclusion belongs to an investigation process; it should not appear merely because a template requires a paragraph.
Define which omissions prevent a draft, which prevent export and which require an explicit reviewer decision. Display a useful message such as “Storage location is missing from the receipt record,” with a link or reference to that record.
Do not fill an empty field with a plausible value. Distinguish “not supplied,” “not applicable” and “review pending” if the customer’s procedure requires those states.
Attach the template version and source identifiers to the draft. Decide what happens when a template changes while a report is under review. Keep the rules for corrections, superseded drafts and retained outputs explicit.
A rendered PDF should preserve the information needed to understand its status. A draft must not visually resemble an approved record if approval has not occurred.
Identify who can edit, review and authorize the record. Define whether edits invalidate a previous acknowledgement. If electronic signatures are required, assess them separately from a checkbox or a typed name.
Test missing fields, unusually long observations, repeated exports and changes after review. Include the exported document in testing; a correct screen does not guarantee a correct PDF.
The working report demo uses synthetic data, resets acknowledgement after edits and exports a labelled sample PDF. It does not determine a root cause, implement a regulated electronic signature or produce an operational record.
Use it to discuss a bounded report-automation project. Teams in India can also review the local project considerations before preparing a brief.
